Lilybelle’s Egg-stra special Egg cosies
This is a super easy pattern and a really cute gift this Easter. I’m making these little cuties for everyone this year ~ they are a hit with folks of all ages unlike the chocolate these will last a lot longer J
Yarn ~ any small amount of cotton or DK wool is perfect. You really don’t need much so this is an ideal project to use up leftover wool.
Hook Size ~ 4mm
Tip/tricks ~ This pattern works in continuous rounds so although not essential, it makes life a lot easier if you have a stitch marker for this project, if you don’t have one a safety pin works very well.
Abbreviations:
SC – Single Crochet (US)
Sc2tog – single crochet two together
Instructions
Foundation: Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch (4) – use your stitch marker now.
Row 1: 2sc in each stitch around (8)
Row 2: 2sc in next stitch then 1 sc in next stitch *repeat for entire row (12)
Row 3: 2sc in next stitch then 1sc in next two stitches *repeat for entire row (16)
Row 4: 2sc in next stitch then 1 sc in next three stitches * repeat for entire row (20)
Row 5: 2 sc in next stitch then 1sc in next four stitches *repeat for entire row (24)
Row 6-14: sc in every stitch in each round
Row 15: sc2tog then sc in next two stitches *repeat for entire row
Weave in your ends
You can customise your cosy by adding on Pom poms or flowers or whatever takes your fancy....then apply to boiled egg and enjoy!
